LTL Problems again! Recon Weekly Market Update - Dec 17, 2020

Is it 2021 yet?  Please?  We all almost certainly cannot wait to say good riddance to 2020, but there doesn't appear to be any relief in sight to the troubles plaguing the LTL market right now.

We thought we were starting to see a much-anticipated turn to better service only to see LTL performance crash to new lows with no end in sight.
 
It's bad folks - everywhere!  In fact, I'll let the industry do the talking for us today.  Below are just a few

snippets of messaging starting to appear everywhere and it's good advice for each of you to position your own statements to your audience about LTL service expectations.  Apologies if the snippets don't come through well.  Recon's proprietary snapshot of weekly LTL carrier performance includes top carrier #'s as well as the overall trend this week.  When the premium carriers drop you know it's systemic!
 
Carrier "A" -  We will be suspending all Guaranteed services for delivery dates starting 12/21/2020 – 1/4/2021  
 
Carrier "B" - "No, we have no idea at this time when we will be able to move this freight - could be into the new year"
