Going to keep it short and sweet this time and leave you with a few teasers to ponder (and reply back if you'd like!). I'm also including a link to the monthly Cass Freight Index report which is always a good read as well as sending a few updated charts on pricing and service.
Teaser 1 - Traditionally, shippers have defaulted to using low-cost LTL carrier options and sometimes defer to "perceived" better service over rates. Recon's TMS shows carrier cost, expected transit time, and proprietary overall carrier performance to help make these decisions. But what if you were able to control those decisions and weigh each of those factors and direct your shipping personnel to use the "BEST" carrier option available? There is no TMS out there with algorithms to do this. Guess what - Recon's TMS is now developing this incredibly valuable feature. Interested??
Teaser 2 - Most shippers charge freight to customers under a "Prepay and Add" line item. But what do they charge? A flat $25? 10% of charges? 20%, 30%, 100%? What do you do and why and is it a strategic approach or are you simply winging it? Should your best customer get the same PP&A charge vs. your worst? If your customer is ordering small shipments every day should that have the same PP&A as a customer who is consolidating their orders which leads to greater shipping efficiency? There are smarter ways to do this and Recon has the data and expertise to help. Why not maximize company profits using an intelligent PP&A strategy?
